I have recently tested the Australian Natural Resources Atlas WMS and it
works great.  The service is located at - 
 
http://155.187.2.28/ogcwms/servlet/com.esri.ogc.wms.WMSServlet?servicena
me=Map_maker&VERSION=1.1.1&SERVICE=WMS&request=GetCapabilities
 
My challenge is that the reference above does not seem to be permanent
URL for this service (located at an IP address).  I am looking for
stable WMS with regional or global coverage and I am wondering whether
anyone knows the status of this service.  I do know it has been around
for a while.
