[georss] Current GeoRSS Version

I think I know the reason for the confusion: Yahoo!. From their Yahoo! Maps Web Services site http://developer.yahoo.com/maps/georss/index.html states

The XML used by the Yahoo! Maps Ajax API is based on GeoRSS 2.0.

They then reference http://brainoff.com/worldkit/doc/rss.php which itself references RSS 2.0 but does not mention any GeoRSS 2.0

I know folks from Yahoo! listen into this forum so perhaps we can work with them to help clarify any ambiguities.

  I'm kind of confused about what the current version of GeoRSS is? The georss.org websites says 1.0, but I found lots of websites talking about GeoRSS v2, so are these just discussions for an upcoming version or has GeoRSS v2 already been released?
