Your suggestions are good, and supported, nominally, by many engines
and tools (such as Solr/Lucene)

OpenSearch itself is set - and won't change. To reiterate, I just
added Geo & Time support (which are similar to your suggestions)
following the existing standard.

What you are suggesting is a way to provide advanced filtering within
a generic search. This is typically provider-specific capability -
especially with respect to terminology on the names, value ranges,
etc.
