Yes. I guess this could be via the proposed bbox query.
A smart FF plugin might be able to detect that a search engine has that
capability and offer a map interface to specific the bbox in addition to
keyword search. This would be way cool.
We would need to agree on namespace, parameters...
This OpenSearch extension might not be too hard based on the examples
provide by deWitt. Might be harder to get everyone to agree :)
There was a lot of discussion with the georss.org group with microformats.
This group, as you may know, has proposed an extension of the Atom/RSS
format to support geospatial information. This would be, of course, what
those servers would return in our case.
Would be great to have them onboard.
