[georss] Styling GeoRss points

I think there is a confusion here as to the meaning of content and
presentation. I would argue that KML does not really describe content -
it may allow content to be associated to a place - but the content
description is outside KML. KML does not allow for example the
definition of a geographic entity and the assignment of properties or
attributes to that entity. This was experimented with in the <Schema>
tag but this has now been superseded by the <Metadata> tag which is just
of type ANY. I suggest you consider styling GeoRSS to KML as KML is
intended for visualization (like SVG). You can also transport/associate
KML with GML and place the GML within the <Metadata> tag. So if you
have a story in RSS and you wish to style the story based on some
properties of the story - then KML could well be a target.

Cheers

I have not read the entire discussion - am on the road - but I have to
ask
the question: Do we want to specify presentation/styling in the same
document as the content? Kind of hardwiring things.

Also, WRT to KML, remember that KML may/will change based on
harmonization
activities within the OGC process. So, any thoughts regarding that
activity would be much appreciated. I state this because I would not
want
to see an approach taken with GeoRSS and KML that breaks if KML styling
changes.

Thanks

Carl
