I agree with this point. RSS has by itself category and GeoRSS
supports featuretypetag and relationshiptag, any of which can be used
to specify the appropriate metadata for what the geographic definition
is referring to. It is then up to the mapping
application/library/render to determine how to graphically display
those categories - or do whatever it will with them (sort, filter,
etc.)
