KML is absolutely more than pushpin+description if you start using the
<Schema /> stuff, but not many folks have yet. I'm not arguing that
it's the best way of doing this, just that it's possible.

I think that the first place I saw this being used was Rebecca Moore's
initial anti-logging KML file but I can't find it right now. I believe
that Safe software's FME will be outputting KML in this format by
default with the next release, allowing you to push raw attributes
around in KML.
