Dear Lylian,

many thanks for your message!

All the material you would like to share with the WG is highly welcome!
Maps and symbolization, historical, classic, recent, methodological and
applied works are all mostly welcome. In the same way also the unpublished
material can be of great impact for the WG members and outputs like: Digital
atlas, Legend system discussion, and map library, among the others.

Regarding the Professional handbook it could be worth including some
regional (morpho-climatic) examples. As soon as we will have some more
information about it we will update you as well as all the other members.

We (Mike and me) are setting up an interactive web-site where all the
members could upload and download their reference databases. Hopefully a
similar tools will be available in the future for other material too (maps,
reports, .pdf, etc).

If you wish to send legend symbolization or maps it would be very kind if
you could provide a digital copy of it (a colour scan at 300 dpi would be
perfect). In case you do not have the facilities for doing so, a printed
copy will be fine as well.

As you are aware of, we have a budget of 500 € per year unless we don't find
another financial support (that we are looking for). This limits us to
reimburse only some shipping expenses but, unfortunately, we cannot
reimburse any scanning expenses, so far. Sorry about that.
You can send the material you wish to share at one of the following
addresses, at your choice:

IAG WG AppGeMa c/o Mike Smith
School of Earth Sciences and Geography
Kingston University
Penrhyn Road
Kingston-upon-Thames
Surrey
KT1 2EE UK

OR

IAG WG AppGeMa c/o Francesco Dramis
Dipartimento di Scienze Geologiche
Università "Roma Tre"
Largo San Leonardo Murialdo, 1
00146 Roma
Italy

Many thanks again Lylian: I hope that your input will be of great spin also
for other members who wish to share their material (references databases,
maps, reports, papers, etc).

Best regards/Lembranças

Paolo

Dear Paolo and Mike,

I would like to contribute to the reference database with publications
concerning issues on history of geomorphological
mapping and (classic?historical?) keys ). I have unpublished issues
(1967/68) as Tricart?s unpublished proposal of a coded
notation to identify landforms in field survey, copies of geomorphological
maps (basic and applied)
concerning French regions. More recent contributions include a collection of
Brazilian geomorphological maps and
publications on geomorphological mapping since the 1960 I employed as basic
references in my undergraduate course
on geomorphological mapping and applied geography (1996-2002) in the
department of geography in S?o Paulo university.
I could contribute also with certain technical aspects (symbolisation) and
perhaps in the professional handbook if
you plan to include regional views/comments on geomorphological mapping.

With best wishes
