Dear all,

We are pleased to announce an updated GeoNetwork opensource DVD, including
many other geospatial open source software.

The maintenance release GeoNetwork opensource version 2.0.3 is part of this
content.

The ISO image (2GB) can be downloaded from

I have made the content directly accessible at the following address:

This provides an easy interface into the DVD content and is hopefully
useful.
The DVD is in print and will hopefully be available at UNGIWG and
GSDI-9 in Santiago.

Hello list,

first, I'd like to drop a short note on my person, as most of the 
listmembers will not know me.

I'm a student of geography in Bonn and right now I'm working on my 
diploma-thesis entitled "Digital geomorphologic cartography - potential 
of information technology for the further development of geoscientific 
cartography" (written in German), which is supervised by Professor 
Richard Dikau.

The main goals of the working group - including the notes by some 
members - seem very reasonable. I would add one other objective though: 
Strengthen the importance of geomorphological mapping within 
geomorphology itself. This has been stated before, but I think it should 
be on the list of objectives as well.

I would like to point out two points Mr Paron mentioned: the collection 
and presentation of every kind of literature on the topic and the 
support for free and/or open-source software.
